"A" Set (Assembly Drawings)

These drawings are complete, full-scale assembly drawings of suspension, controls, and final drive system. They show location and assembly procedure only for all parts. No dimensions are shown. "A" Set is used to assemble the Disassembled Rolling Chassis shown below. The layouts may also be used to adapt lightweight LeGrand components to other chassis designs.

"B" Set (Construction Drawings)

These drawings are complete, half-scale construction drawings of the monocoque tub, suspension, and controls. These drawings have all dimensions and part numbers shown, and may be used by a competent builder to completely fabricate the Mk 18 Constructors Kit shown below.

The Disassembled Rolling Chassis

This kit includes all parts necessary to assemble a complete Mk 18 Sports Racing car. Using Drawing Set "A", only hand tools are required for assembly, and there is no welding to be done. All suspension and steering parts are cadmium plated and tub bulkheads are painted and baked with gray enamel.

The kit includes completed tub bulkheads with tub skins cut and bent, ready for drilling and riveting, an unpainted body, suspension, wheels, brakes, fuel cell, steering, pedals, and a complete set of "A" Set Assembly Drawings, and all items on the Parts/Price List.

The kit does not include engine, gearbox, starter, exhaust system, fire system, tires, battery, upholstery, or oil tanks.

Constructors Kit

This kits is strictly for the competent builder who wants to fabricate his own monocoque tub and suspension. Using Drawing Set "B", all tub bulkheads and skins, all suspension parts, and all pedal assembly parts are fabricated by the builder, then using Drawing Set "A", all components are assembled. This kit is recommended only for those experienced in welding, close tolerance sheet metal fabrication, and general race car fabrication.

The kit includes a complete body shell, front suspension uprights, hubs, spindles, studs, and complete ball joint assemblies. The rear suspension hub carriers, rear drive unit carrier with special stub drive shaft, complete rack and pinion steering box, front and rear wheels, front and rear spring/shock assemblies, and drawing sets "A" & "B".

Basically, the kit includes all components that are manufactured exclusively by LeGrand Race Cars, allowing the builder freedom to purchase remaining items at his discretion. The builder may elect to purchase from LeGrand any component he would rather not make himself.
